Responsibilities Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status exams and diagnostic assessments for patients across age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics. Develop individualized treatment plans integrating medication management with psychotherapy and other therapeutic modalities. Collaborate effectively with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to document assessments, treatment plans, and medication administration accurately. Provide patient education on medication use, side effects, and lifestyle modifications to promote adherence and wellness. Participate in clinical research initiatives related to behavioral health or pharmacology to advance evidence-based practices. Requirements Valid DNP degree with prescribing authority as a Nurse Practitioner in the relevant state; DEA registration for controlled substances prescribing is required. Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent credential. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; telehealth experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of pharmacology, physiology, and mental health diagnosis criteria (DSM-5). Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, medical history review, and physical examinations. Excellent communication skills for client engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards to ensure confidentiality and compliance.
