The Medical Director will provide clinical leadership and oversight of psychiatric and mental health services while collaborating with the organization's multidisciplinary clinical team. This position serves patients in Maryland. Candidates must hold an active Maryland license/authorization to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Responsibilities Serve as Medical Director for the organization's Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. Provide overall clinical oversight of psychiatric and mental health services. Establish and maintain appropriate standards for psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management. Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments as needed. Diagnose and treat psychiatric and mental health conditions within the scope of practice. Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychotropic medications as appropriate. Review and provide oversight of individualized treatment plans and clinical services. Collaborate with therapists, nurses, primary care providers, and other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team. Provide clinical consultation and guidance to clinical staff. Participate in quality assurance, utilization review, and clinical quality-improvement activities. Review clinical policies, procedures, and protocols as appropriate. Assist in ensuring adequate clinical and medical coverage for patient needs. Ensure clinical services are provided in accordance with Maryland regulations, professional standards, agency policies, and CARF accreditation requirements. Maintain appropriate clinical documentation and records. Provide clinical oversight through on-site and/or HIPAA-compliant telehealth services as permitted and required. Qualifications Active Maryland license/authorization to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification. Minimum of 2 years of outpatient psychiatric experience preferred. Demonstrated experience evaluating, diagnosing, and treating psychiatric and mental health conditions. Experience with psychiatric medication management. Strong knowledge of clinical documentation, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary treatment environment. Experience in an outpatient mental health clinic or behavioral health organization strongly preferred. Medical Director or other clinical leadership experience preferred. Must successfully complete required background and credentialing requirements.
