Duties Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and develop individualized care plans. Prescribe medications, including controlled substances in accordance with DEA regulations, and manage medication administration. Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and sterile processing as needed for patient care. Collaborate with healthcare professionals across specialties including gastroenterology, critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and behavioral health to coordinate treatment plans. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and medical records management. Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care and support remote patient management. Assist in diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing, sonography, or medical imaging techniques; interpret results for clinical decision-making. Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance healthcare delivery standards. Support acute pain management, hospice & palliative medicine, infectious disease care, and other specialized areas based on experience. Requirements Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current state certification; eligible for licensure if relocating or transitioning from another jurisdiction. Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency room, ICU, or nursing homes. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/10). Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Experience performing advanced procedures such as spinal taps, dermal fillers (nice-to-have), tube feeding management, or ventilator support is advantageous. Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure highly preferred; experience with pediatric (PICU) or neonatal ventilator is a plus. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients on health coaching and treatment options effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team under collaborative practice agreements while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
