Provide primary health care working in collaboration with licensed psychiatrists, assessing the physical and psychosocial status of youth by means of interview, health history, physical examination and diagnostic tests. Ensure patient safety through the appropriate prescription and management of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. Identify, measure, and monitor clinical and related behavioral outcomes to determine the effectiveness and appropriateness of the plan of care. Ensure that proper protocols are followed when obtaining informed consent for psychotropic medications. Participate in treatment team meetings. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.

This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).• The minimum qualifications through NYHELPS are: Current Licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in New York State. Must maintain a valid New York State license and registration. This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility. Additional CommentsPreferred Qualifications - Candidate MUST have completed 3,500 hours of collaboration. Your resume MUST document how you have met the required 3,500 hours to order qualify for this position. Salary Schedule for the position is as follows: $140,252 Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 24 ($91,298), an increased hiring rate ($23,954) and a Geographic Differential ($25,000).
Background Investigation Requirements:
1) All prospective employees will be investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC), which includes State and federal Criminal History Record Checks. All convictions must be reported; conviction of a felony or misdemeanor, or any falsified or omitted information on the prospective appointee's employment application, may bar appointment or result in removal after appointment. Each case will be determined on its own merits, consistent with the applicable provisions of State and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Prospective employees will be fingerprinted in order to obtain a record of their criminal history information, and may be required to pay any necessary fees. 2) All prospective employees will be screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees will be required to pay any necessary fees. 3) For Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY) prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable.
