Job Overview Mindful Transformations LLC is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN/PMHNP) to join our holistic outpatient mental health practice as a 1099 independent contractor . The Psychiatric APRN will work alongside our team of therapists to provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, diagnostic clarification, and medical support for clients receiving therapy within the practice. This position is ideal for an established, highly independent provider who has previous experience working as a 1099 contractor and values collaborative, whole-person mental healthcare. The position may be hybrid or fully remote , with flexible scheduling. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including client history, mental status examinations, diagnostic assessments, and risk assessments Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with Connecticut laws and professional standards Provide ongoing medication monitoring, education, and follow-up care Assess, diagnose, and treat anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, trauma-related conditions, and other common mental health concerns Provide ADHD evaluations and ongoing treatment when clinically appropriate Offer informed guidance regarding medical marijuana, including its potential benefits, risks, interactions, and limitations, within the provider's qualifications and scope of practice Collaborate with therapists to develop thoughtful, integrated treatment plans Coordinate with primary care providers, specialists, and other members of a client's healthcare team when clinically appropriate and properly authorized Educate clients and families about diagnoses, medications, treatment options, wellness strategies, and medication adherence Complete timely and accurate documentation using the practice's electronic health record Provide telehealth services in compliance with Connecticut regulations and professional standards Maintain appropriate procedures for emergencies, crisis intervention, referrals, and continuity of care Protect client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable professional, legal, and ethical requirements Qualifications Current and unrestricted Connecticut APRN license Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification Current prescribing authority and DEA registration Professional liability insurance Experience conducting psychiatric evaluations and providing medication management Experience assessing and treating ADHD Experience treating anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma-related conditions, and other outpatient mental health concerns Knowledge of psychiatric medications, psychopharmacology, medication interactions, and appropriate monitoring Knowledge of medical marijuana and its potential impact on behavioral health treatment Previous experience successfully operating as a 1099 independent contractor Strong clinical judgment, diagnostic, documentation, communication, and time-management skills Ability to work independently and manage all responsibilities associated with an independent contractor role Ability to collaborate respectfully and effectively with therapists and other healthcare providers Experience providing telehealth services Commitment to client-centered, ethical, culturally responsive, and holistic care Experience working with children and adolescents is welcomed but not required. Compensation Estimated compensation:
$100-$180 per clinical hour This is a fee-split independent contractor position. The APRN will receive 70% of collected revenue for services they personally provide, and the practice will retain 30%. Actual compensation will vary based on services provided, reimbursement rates, payer mix, client volume, attendance, and collections. The estimated range is not a guaranteed hourly wage. At approximately 25 clinical hours per week, this position may offer the potential to earn approximately $120,000-$216,000 annually , based on 48 working weeks. Actual earnings are not guaranteed.
