Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans for diverse patient populations, including children, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help improve mental wellness and support recovery through innovative, patient-centered care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with healthcare professionals across various specialties and utilize advanced clinical skills to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status exams, risk assessments, and diagnostic evaluations using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks. Prescribe medications in accordance with DEA regulations and develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate psychopharmacology, therapy options, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborate closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care. Manage follow-up appointments, monitor medication efficacy, and adjust treatment regimens as needed to optimize patient outcomes. Provide telehealth services utilizing telemedicine platforms to expand access to mental health care across diverse settings. Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records while adhering to HIPAA standards for confidentiality. Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, medication management, and coping strategies to promote ongoing wellness. Skills Proven experience working with individuals of all ages, including children and geriatrics, in behavioral health or psychiatric settings. Strong knowledge of psychotropic medications, psychopharmacology, and medication management protocols. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as SimplePractice, Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient tracking. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, mental status exams, and physiology-based evaluations. Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient education and engagement. Knowledge of healthcare diagnosis coding systems like
ICD-10/ICD-9
for accurate documentation; CPT coding for billing procedures. Skilled in collaborating within a multidisciplinary team using collaborative practice agreements to deliver integrated care. Capable of managing complex cases involving acute pain management, substance use disorders, or comorbid medical conditions such as infectious disease care or critical & intensive care scenarios. Familiarity with advanced procedures like venipuncture, injection administration, suturing, or basic life support techniques is a plus.
