Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Duties Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations and diagnostic evaluations using clinical research and healthcare diagnosis principles. Prescribe and manage medications for mental health conditions in accordance with DEA regulations and collaborative practice agreements. Administer injections such as psychopharmacology medications and perform procedures including suturing when necessary. Collaborate with healthcare professionals across disciplines to develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate behavioral health, pain management, and medication administration strategies. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. Provide telehealth services to expand access to mental health care, leveraging telehealth experience for remote patient assessments and follow-up. Engage in patient education and health coaching to promote wellness, medication adherence, and recovery support within diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Qualifications Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with current state licensure. Demonstrated experience working with children, geriatrics, or specialized populations such as hospice & palliative medicine or memory care is preferred. Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and pharmacology related to behavioral health. Experience working in various clinical settings such as hospitals (Level I & II trauma centers), outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or assisted living facilities. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth; familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/10). Critical care experience including ICU or emergency room exposure is advantageous. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient assessment, discharge planning, case management, and client-centered care delivery.
