Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive mental health services to diverse patient populations. This energetic position offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, utilize advanced clinical skills, and make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. You will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals experiencing a wide range of psychiatric conditions, ensuring personalized care that promotes recovery and well-being. Responsibilities Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations, intake evaluations, and diagnostic evaluations using EMR/EHR systems. Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in accordance with collaborative practice agreements and DEA regulations. Provide psychotherapy and counseling tailored to individual patient needs, including behavioral health interventions. Manage acute psychiatric episodes, utilizing crisis intervention techniques and triage protocols to ensure patient safety. Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals across disciplines—such as physicians, social workers, and case managers—to coordinate comprehensive care. Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health records while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, medication management, and wellness strategies to foster ongoing recovery. Experience Proven experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in psychiatric or behavioral health settings, with familiarity in telehealth platforms. Demonstrated knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication administration and monitoring for efficacy and side effects. Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Therapy notes, for seamless documentation and patient management. Background in managing complex cases involving acute care, inpatient psychiatry, or outpatient behavioral health services. Familiarity with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs. Strong understanding of healthcare diagnosis codes (ICD-10/ICD-9) and CPT coding for billing purposes. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while adhering to clinical protocols and legal regulations.
