Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for diverse patient populations, including adults (18 yrs and older), and seniors. Your expertise will help improve mental health outcomes through evidence-based interventions, medication management, and collaborative care. Responsibilities Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments utilizing clinical expertise and diagnostic tools such as ICD-10 coding and DSM criteria. Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with DEA regulations, including psychopharmacology treatments tailored to individual patient needs. Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate therapy, medication management, and case coordination. Monitor patient progress through regular follow-up appointments, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to optimize outcomes. Provide crisis intervention and acute care management for patients experiencing psychiatric emergencies or behavioral health crises. Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medication administration, lifestyle modifications, and available community resources to support recovery and well-being. Skills Proven experience working with diverse populations across settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or emergency rooms with a focus on behavioral health. Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, including psychopharmacology principles and drug interactions. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for efficient documentation and patient record management. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, mental status exams, and physical examinations when necessary. Excellent communication skills for effective client engagement, team collaboration, and family education. Experience managing complex cases involving comorbidities such as substance use disorders or chronic medical conditions like Geriatrics or Pediatrics. Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance, DEA regulations for prescribing controlled substances, and CPT coding for billing purposes.
