This is an excellent opportunity for a PMHNP seeking a flexible, collaborative outpatient role with the potential to grow. The position will begin with one or two consistent in-person days, overflow appointments, and mutually agreed coverage during planned Medical Director travel. Our multidisciplinary practice combines traditional psychiatric care with psychotherapy, Spravato®, ketamine-assisted services, functional medicine, and metabolic health programs. Participation in specialized services is optional and requires appropriate training and authorization. Responsibilities Perform psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments Provide medication-management follow-up care Develop and update individualized treatment plans Order and review appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies Educate patients regarding diagnoses, medications, risks, and treatment options Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, nursing, and administrative staff Complete accurate, compliant documentation within required timeframes Respond appropriately to refill requests, clinical messages, and treatment concerns Provide mutually agreed in-person coverage during planned provider absences Participate in case consultation and collaborative treatment planning Follow applicable prescribing, controlled-substance, payer, privacy, and patient-safety requirements Optionally participate in Spravato®, ketamine, integrative, or metabolic-health services after training Qualifications Current board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Active, unrestricted Iowa ARNP license or ability to obtain one before beginning clinical work Current prescriptive authority, Iowa controlled-substance registration, and DEA registration as applicable Current NPI and an accurate, up-to-date CAQH profile Professional-liability insurance Outpatient psychiatric medication-management experience strongly preferred Strong diagnostic, prescribing, documentation, and clinical judgment Warm, professional communication with patients and colleagues Dependability and comfort working independently while remaining collaborative Ability to provide in-person care in Cedar Rapids Willingness to complete credentialing, background screening, and HWP onboarding requirements Candidates already enrolled with major Iowa payers are especially encouraged to apply. Schedule The contractor will control the specific availability offered to the practice, coordinated with patient and operational needs. We are seeking approximately 8-16 hours of in-person availability per week initially, with opportunities to add hours as patient demand and mutual interest support growth. There are no guaranteed minimum hours or patient volume. No routine weekends or overnight call are anticipated. Compensation This is a 1099 independent-contractor position paid at 50% of net collections actually received for personally rendered professional services. The anticipated equivalent is approximately $70-$100 per clinical hour, depending on visit type, payer mix, attendance, documentation, and actual collections. Compensation is not guaranteed and is not based solely on scheduled hours. Why Join HWP? Pay:
