Job Overview Voltamed Community Clinic is seeking a dedicated and energetic Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnose mental health conditions, and develop personalized treatment plans to support patients' emotional and psychological well-being. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes through innovative care delivery, including medication management and therapy coordination. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in diverse patient populations in the Inland Empire. Responsibilities Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments for patients of all ages, including children, adults, and geriatrics. Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements. Collaborate closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop integrated treatment plans. Provide patient education on mental health conditions, medication adherence, and coping strategies to promote recovery and resilience. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Therapy Notes for accurate documentation of patient encounters and treatment progress. Participate in clinical research initiatives to advance psychiatric care practices and stay current with emerging treatment modalities. Support triage processes by prioritizing urgent cases and coordinating referrals for specialized services like substance use disorder treatment or neuropsychiatric evaluations. Skills Proven experience working with diverse populations, including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities. Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, psychopharmacology, and medication administration protocols. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Therapy Notes or Office Ally for efficient medical documentation. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly. Ability to perform comprehensive physical examinations when necessary and coordinate diagnostic evaluations like laboratory testing or neuroimaging. Critical care experience or hospital medicine background is advantageous for managing acute psychiatric crises in inpatient settings.
