Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations and behavioral assessments for patients across age groups. Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with collaborative practice agreements and HIPAA regulations. Develop personalized treatment plans utilizing psychotherapy, medication management, and other modalities such as telehealth services. Collaborate closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care. Monitor patient progress through regular follow-ups, adjusting treatment strategies as needed to optimize mental health outcomes. Document all clinical encounters accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, medication adherence, and coping strategies. Qualifications Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with valid state licensure. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Athenahealth or Cerner; experience with telehealth platforms is preferred. Knowledge of psychopharmacology, including prescribing medications in compliance with DEA regulations. Strong understanding of behavioral health assessment tools, diagnostic evaluation (ICD-10/ICD-9 coding), and treatment planning. Critical care experience or hospital medicine background is advantageous; familiarity with acute pain management or hospice & palliative medicine is a plus. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced settings such as emergency rooms or Level I trauma centers.
