Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) - Adults & Child/Adolescent Sandalwood Mental Health, PLLC Lake Wylie, SC | Hybrid Part-Time to Full-Time About the Opportunity Sandalwood Mental Health is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing outpatient psychiatric practice in South Carolina. The clinician will provide psychiatric care to a mixed caseload of adults, children, and adolescents . We are particularly interested in a PMHNP who has prior experience working with children and adolescents and enjoys caring for patients across the lifespan. This is a part-time to full-time hybrid position , combining in-person appointments at our Lake Wylie, SC office with telehealth care. The position can begin with a part-time schedule and grow as the clinician's caseload develops. Sandalwood is a PMHNP-owned and clinician-led practice . Our model emphasizes thoughtful, collaborative psychiatric care rather than high-volume medication management. We provide longer appointments that allow clinicians to get to know their patients, provide education, collaborate with families and other providers, and incorporate supportive psychotherapy when appropriate. What We Offer Part-time to full-time opportunity with the ability to grow your caseload Hybrid schedule combining in-person and telehealth care In-person practice location in Lake Wylie, SC Flexible scheduling Opportunity to treat a combination of adults, children, and adolescents Longer appointments with an emphasis on quality rather than high-volume medication checks Ability to incorporate supportive psychotherapy into medication-management visits when clinically appropriate Meaningful clinical autonomy within a collaborative practice Administrative and scheduling support Billing and credentialing support Referral-development and practice-growth support Established EHR and telehealth infrastructure Commercial insurance and Medicaid patient populations Opportunity to help shape and expand our child and adolescent psychiatric services Clinical Population The PMHNP will provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation and ongoing treatment for adults, children, and adolescents with conditions that may include: ADHD Anxiety disorders Depression Mood disorders Trauma-related disorders Sleep concerns Autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions Other common outpatient psychiatric conditions Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations Diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions within scope of practice Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans Provide psychiatric medication management Monitor treatment response, side effects, and clinical progress Incorporate supportive psychotherapy and therapeutic interventions when appropriate Provide patient and family education Collaborate with parents and guardians when treating minors Coordinate with therapists, primary care providers, schools, and other treatment-team members when clinically appropriate and authorized Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation Provide both in-person and telehealth appointments Follow applicable prescribing, regulatory, and professional requirements
Qualifications Required:
Current
PMHNP-BC
certification Current South Carolina APRN licensure + DEA license or ability to obtain South Carolina licensure Prior psychiatric experience treating children and/or adolescents Experience conducting psychiatric evaluations and providing medication management Comfortable treating a mixed outpatient caseload that includes adults as well as children/adolescents Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills Ability to provide both in-person care at our Lake Wylie office and telehealth services Commitment to evidence-based, collaborative, patient-centered care Maintain an appropriate collaborating physician relationship as required for practice in South Carolina Especially valued: Outpatient child and adolescent psychiatry experience ADHD evaluation and treatment experience Autism/neurodevelopmental experience Experience working with Medicaid populations Experience incorporating psychotherapy or therapeutic interventions into psychiatric practice Interest in helping develop and grow a child/adolescent service line Schedule Part-time to full-time. We are open to a clinician who would like to begin part-time and gradually increase clinical hours as their caseload develops. This may also be a good fit for an experienced PMHNP who currently has another position and would like to initially join the practice on a limited schedule before transitioning to a larger caseload. Compensation Competitive productivity-based compensation. Compensation grows with the clinician's caseload and productivity. Sandalwood provides the practice infrastructure necessary to support the clinician, including billing, credentialing, scheduling systems, EHR/telehealth infrastructure, and referral development. Additional compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.
