A Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner provides mental health and nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders, medical organic brain disorders or substance abuse problems. Diagnoses mental illness, develops treatment plans and prescribes medications. Teaches patient's family about the patient's condition. Works at hospitals with dedicated mental health unit, fully dedicated psychiatric hospital or in independent practice working from nursing homes and physicians' offices.

Job Description
What You'll Get Base Pay:
$60 to $90 per hour (depending on experience)Performance Bonus:

$1,000 annual CME allowance and internal leadership training How You'll Make an Impact Evaluate and diagnose: Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients across the lifespan, in person or via telehealth Treat and manage: Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitor effectiveness, and adjust care plans in collaboration with the care team Educate and advocate: Provide psychoeducation and advocate for each patient's mental health needs Deliver telehealth well: Maintain privacy, clear communication, and quality of care across virtual visits Improve the clinic: Participate in quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care and efficiency Requirements Master's or Doctorate in Nursing (MSN/DNP) with a Psychiatric-Mental Health specialization Active New York State NP license Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) Strong understanding of HIPAA and experience using EMR systems DEA registration preferred, or willingness to obtainPreferred:
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NYS Infection Control trainingPreferred:
