Physician, Family Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with ER experience. Serves walk-in ER patients by delivering urgent care; is the team leader in the care of the patient
Duties:
Provides patient evaluations and consultations by obtaining appropriate histories, performing physical examinations, reviewing relevant medical records, diagnostic results, reports, and other clinical information, and developing appropriate diagnoses, treatment plans, and recommendations for care. Responds appropriately to life-threatening emergencies, including participating in and, when appropriate, directing emergency resuscitation and code situations. Performs clinical procedures within the provider's scope of practice, training, competency, and privileges, including intravenous access when clinically indicated. Evaluates and treats seriously ill or injured patients, provides appropriate emergency stabilization, and facilitates transfer by ambulance to a hospital emergency department or other appropriate higher level of care when necessary. Maintains appropriate professional conduct and communication with patients, families, staff members, and other healthcare professionals. Performs other duties consistent with the provider's professional role, scope of practice, credentials, and privileges as reasonably assigned.
