Diagnoses mental illness, develops treatment plans and prescribes medications. Teaches patient's family about the patient's condition. Works at hospitals with dedicated mental health unit, fully dedicated psychiatric hospital or in independent practice working from nursing homes and physicians' offices.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Optimize quality of life for residents in skilled nursing, assisted living and/or long-term care settings working alongside an interdisciplinary team that includes medical professionals, psychotherapists and facility staff. Assessment, diagnosis, treatment and medical management of conditions including anxiety, depression, adjustment disorder, and pre-existing mental illnesses. Maintain timely, accurate documentation. Provide education to facility staff regarding psychiatric care and patient needs. Ensure compliance with CMS guidelines and facility policies.

Qualifications:
