You will focus on providing high quality patient care as part of a healthcare team. Provide direct inpatient medical care in coordination with physicians and hospital staff. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests. Develop and implement individualized, outcomes-based treatment plans. Counsel patients and families on treatment options, preventive care, and health maintenance. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards. Participates in staff meetings, rounding and other activity to support a positive patient experience. Maintains cooperation and collaboration with hospital team, physicians, patients and families as needed to enhance continuity of care and a positive working environment. Performs other duties as requested or assigned. Education Graduate from an accredited NP program Experience & Certification Minimum of 2 years of inpatient experience or 4 years of total nurse practitioner experience preferred. Current, unrestricted APRN license in the state of Tennessee. Current BLS and/or ACLS certification . Current DEA license and other certifications necessary to legally practice in Tennessee. Must maintain required continuing education credits per state guidelines. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care measures. Ability to interpret and act upon lab and diagnostic test results. Skilled in counseling patients on medical and psychological conditions and treatment plans. Proficient in developing and managing comprehensive patient care plans. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Comfortable with computer systems and electronic health records. Ability to establish effective relationships with patients, families, and team members. Thrive in a fast-paced , dynamic clinical environment. Physical Demands Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 50 lbs). Occasional heavy lifting required when assisting or moving patients who may be weak or non-ambulatory.
