• Georgetown is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our collaborative Urgent Care team.

m. The Opportunity As a Nurse Practitioner in Urgent Care, you will evaluate and treat adult patients with a broad range of acute illnesses and injuries. You'll have the opportunity to practice evidence-based medicine while working closely with physicians and an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Your responsibilities will include:

Performing comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations Evaluating and diagnosing acute illnesses and injuries Ordering, collecting, interpreting, and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic testing Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and evidence-based medicine Prescribing medications and recommending appropriate therapies Performing procedures within your scope of practice, clinical privileges, and level of expertise Evaluating patients' responses to treatment and the effectiveness of care Educating and counseling patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, nutrition, health promotion, and prevention Discussing medication regimens, potential side effects, and possible interactions with patients Coordinating referrals and consultation when appropriate or when a patient's needs exceed scope of practice or expertise Maintaining accurate medical records documenting treatment plans and outcomes Collaborating with physicians and other members of the care team Providing consultation-level services for conditions related to your specialty and training Performing additional patient care duties based on departmental coverage needs Preferred experience: At least one year of relevant APP experience. • Nurse Practitioner (NP) Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS): Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.
