You don't wait for a task list. You identify needs, improve processes, and "own" your patient outcomes. Primary Roles & Responsibilities In accordance with the standard of care for Nurse Practitioners in the state of Texas, your duties will include:
Comprehensive Care:
Perform physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, and manage the overall health of a diverse patient panel.
Clinical Judgment:
Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic tests (labs, imaging) and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
Prescriptive Authority:
Prescribe medications and non-pharmacological therapies as authorized by the Texas Board of Nursing.
Patient Advocacy:
Provide thorough patient education and counseling on preventive health and lifestyle changes-a cornerstone of the DPC model.
Care Coordination:
Manage referrals and collaborate with specialists while maintaining the DPC "medical home" philosophy.
Documentation:
Maintain precise, timely, and honest electronic health records that reflect the high standard of care provided.
Qualifications Licensure:
Active, unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas.
Certification:
Board Certification (AANP or ANCC) in Family Practice or Adult-Gerontology.
Experience:
Previous experience in primary care or urgent care is preferred, but a demonstrated "self-starter" attitude is paramount.
Technical Savvy:
