Full benefits package available Position Summary We are seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at our Mesquite, Texas urgent care clinic, located at 1280 N Town East Blvd, Mesquite, TX 75150 . This role is ideal for clinicians who value variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment. Clinicians at NextCare enjoy true work-life balance , including no after-hours tasks, flexible scheduling, and monthly schedules released in advance. Our full-time clinicians typically work three 12-hour shifts per week , allowing them to be off more days than they work. You'll be supported by experienced clinical teams, strong peer relationships, clear practice guidelines, and accessible medical leadership who provide real-time guidance and mentorship. The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low-acuity presentations that allow clinicians to maintain a wide range of skills without the ongoing follow-up demands of an inpatient setting. Key Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, and wound management Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR Code and bill services appropriately Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values Required Qualifications Active, unrestricted Texas Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license Current board certification:NP:
ANCC or AANP certification; FNP requiredPA:
NCCPA certification Active DEA license or ability to obtain Ability to evaluate and treat patients of all ages Active BLS certification EHR proficiency Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays DOT certification or willingness to obtain; applicable fees covered Preferred Qualifications Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or fast-track experience Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, wound care, and I&D Experience with initial x-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read Experience practicing independently in a fast-paced clinical environment About NextCare NextCare is one of the nation's largest urgent care providers, serving communities with accessible, affordable, high-quality care across 160+ locations in 11 states.
