AccessHealth Clinic Locations Job Summary The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner functions as an advanced practice provider responsible for delivering comprehensive primary health care services to pediatric patients. This role includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions within the scope of prescriptive authority. The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Apply advanced clinical knowledge and specialty expertise to assess pediatric patients and identify actual and potential health needs or diagnoses Obtain comprehensive patient health histories through patient and family interviews and physical examinations Identify risk factors by distinguishing normal and abnormal findings from examinations, lab results, radiology, and behavioral assessments Develop, implement, and manage pediatric treatment plans, including: Assessment and management of acute illnesses with consultation or referral as needed Prescribing medications and recommending therapies under prescriptive authority Management of stable chronic conditions using established protocols or in collaboration with physicians Referral of patients with unstable chronic conditions to appropriate specialists Providing patient and family counseling, education, and health promotion activities Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams in the provision of care Maintain current professional licenses, certifications, and clinical competency through continuing education Serve as a consumer advocate for quality healthcare and services Perform other related duties as assigned or delegated Education, Licensure, and Certification Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with Advanced Practice Nurse recognition Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Certification in area of practice or eligibility for certification Minimum of one year of experience in the area of practice ACLS certification preferred Ability to work effectively with individuals of all socioeconomic backgrounds Skills and Competencies Advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic skills Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities Excellent communication and patient education skills Proven ability to collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals High ethical standards and professional integrity Strong organizational and time-management skills Commitment to patient advocacy and quality pediatric care Physical Demands The physical demands described below represent those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
