Nurse Practitioner Pain Southlake, TX 76092 $500 a day - Part-time, Contract $500 a day - Part-time, Contract Overview Join our dynamic interventional pain management team as a Nurse Practitioner, where your expertise will directly impact patients living with acute and chronic pain. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with experienced interventional pain practitioners, utilize advanced clinical skills, and deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting. You will perform thorough assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe medications within your scope of practice, and support patients undergoing minimally invasive pain management procedures. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and detailed pain evaluations to establish accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions, including spine, musculoskeletal, and neuropathic pain disorders. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with interventional pain physicians. Prescribe medications and other therapies in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements, emphasizing safe prescribing practices and opioid stewardship. Assist with the evaluation, preparation, and follow-up of patients undergoing interventional pain procedures, including epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, and joint injections. Monitor patient progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and adjust care plans as clinically indicated. Document all patient encounters accurately using EMR/EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive pain management care. Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, medications, procedural expectations, recovery, and lifestyle modifications to improve function and quality of life. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support evidence-based clinical practices. Skills Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority in accordance with state regulations. Experience in pain management, interventional pain management, orthopedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, or primary care is preferred. Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, spine disorders, pain physiology, and evidence-based pain management principles. Familiarity with interventional pain procedures and the evaluation and management of patients before and after treatment. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation. Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and patient education skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced outpatient interventional pain management practice while providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Knowledge of controlled substance prescribing guidelines, opioid stewardship, risk assessment, and applicable regulatory requirements. Understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and office-based procedural standards.
