•Help us help others: This position is responsible for providing crisis residential psychiatric treatment to adolescents and/or adults with severe and persistent mental illness in a community mental health setting. All MHDD employees commit to our mission

You will get to: Work in the crisis residential mental health center under the supervision of the Crisis Residential Medical Director. Collaborate with the treatment team on patient care and transfers, meeting daily with the treatment team. Work may be both in-person and virtual. Complete Psychiatric Evaluation with Medical (90792) within one hour of patient arrival to the Extended Observation Unit (EOU). Evaluate patients on their need for psychotropic medication and prescribe medication. Complete 12-hour reassessments/progress notes of EOU patients daily at 0800. Complete 90792 within 24 hours of patient arrival to the Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) unless it is already done within 72 hours at another facility. Complete physical health assessment within two hours of patient arrival to the CRU unless already done within the last week at another facility. Complete prompt and correct documentation in the electronic medical record that supports diagnosis and outcome-based services with a recovery-oriented philosophy, including weekly progress notes on call CRU patients. Monitor patient referral system to assess for admission and update patient sign-out list daily for on call psychiatrist. Stay up to date with job training requirements through Relias. You'll definitely need: PMHNP Adolescent and/or Adult Master of Science Degree in nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in psychiatric and mental health.

PMHNP-BC

as certified by the ANCC Texas Board of Nursing License and DEA Registration Meet all other criteria for employment and medical staff appointments. Complete and maintain both CPR certification and Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior training within the first 3 months of employment. Maintain valid Texas state driver's license and auto insurance. Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred.
