Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, excellent patient assessment skills, and a commitment to delivering comprehensive care across diverse medical settings. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care, perform diagnostic evaluations, and support treatment plans within a busy gastroenterology practice. Duties Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, utilizing advanced physiology knowledge and clinical diagnostic skills. Prescribe medications and manage treatment plans in accordance with HIPAA regulations and state-specific collaborative practice agreements. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care strategies for patients across outpatient. Manage electronic health records ensuring accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT). Participate in telehealth consultations, case management, and post-acute care planning to optimize patient outcomes. Engage in quality improvement projects related to gastroenterology. Qualifications Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with eligibility to practice in the respective state. Demonstrated experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, critical care (ICU/Level I & II trauma centers), or outpatient clinics. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with medical imaging and laboratory processing is preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Experience performing invasive procedures such as spinal taps, catheterizations, or sonography is advantageous. Skilled in medication administration including injections and IV infusions within HIPAA compliance standards. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients on health coaching and disease management strategies. Additional expertise in areas such as gastroenterology treatments (e.g., botulinum toxin), pain management (acute & chronic), behavioral health support, hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics, or occupational health is highly desirable.
