JOB DESCRIPTION

My Psychiatrist is a well-established multi-disciplinary outpatient mental health group practice. We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assessing patients' mental health, conducting mental health screenings and evaluations to identify potential mental health disorders Developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients Prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications Monitoring and adjusting medications as needed to ensure effectiveness and minimize side effects Educating patients and their families about mental health conditions, medications, and lifestyle changes that can improve overall well-being Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, counselors, social workers, and psychiatrists, to provide comprehensive care to patients Providing crisis intervention and stabilization patients in emergency situations Keeping accurate patient records and documentation Staying up-to-date with best practices and advancements in the field of psychiatric mental health nursing to ensure high-quality care.

REQUIREMENTS A

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Valid Virginia state license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting Commitment to providing compassionate and quality patient care.
