Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to join our fast-paced healthcare team. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine urgent health needs. Diagnose common illnesses and injuries, utilizing diagnostic tools such as sonography and laboratory testing, including specimen collection and processing. Administer treatments such as IV infusions, suturing, dermal fillers, botulinum toxin treatments, and esthetic laser procedures while ensuring adherence to sterile techniques. Prescribe medications in compliance with DEA regulations and document all medical interventions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks. Manage acute pain cases, perform airway management, catheterization, spinal taps, and other procedures requiring advanced clinical expertise. Collaborate with physicians, specialists in infectious disease care, behavioral health professionals, and other healthcare providers to develop comprehensive patient care plans. Provide triage services via telehealth or in-person settings to prioritize patient needs efficiently while maintaining HIPAA compliance and thorough medical documentation. Experience Proven experience working in urgent care settings or emergency medicine environments with familiarity in hospital medicine or Level I/II trauma center experience. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is a plus. Strong background in critical & intensive care (ICU), acute care experience, or hospital experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of diverse clinical areas including geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), behavioral health, hospice & palliative medicine, and occupational health. Skilled in performing procedures such as suturing, venipuncture (phlebotomy), catheter care, tube feeding management, and basic life support certification. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities; familiarity with Workers' Compensation law and utilization review processes is advantageous. Ability to handle complex diagnostic evaluations involving ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for procedures, and medical imaging interpretation.
