A Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner provides mental health and nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders, medical organic brain disorders or substance abuse problems. Diagnoses mental illness, develops treatment plans and prescribes medications. Teaches patient's family about the patient's condition. Works at hospitals with dedicated mental health unit, fully dedicated psychiatric hospital or in independent practice working from nursing homes and physicians' offices.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct on-site patient care in the skilled nursing and long-term care setting
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Document patient information accurately and timely

Skills:

Proficient in psychiatric diagnostic evaluation of patients
Strong oral and written communication skills

Qualifications:

Valid PA-C or ARNP license in the state of Washington
Minimum 1 year of experience in the psychiatric care or long-term care setting
BLS certification preferred
