Job Description
Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Department of Pediatric Specialties and work alongside an experienced Pediatric Gastroenterologist in our nationally recognized pediatric program. This position offers a flexible schedule of 0.8 to 1.0 FTE and provides an opportunity to deliver high-quality, family-centered care to children and adolescents throughout the region. As part of a multidisciplinary pediatric team, you will provide outpatient care for patients with a variety of gastroenterology conditions while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and support staff to enhance the health and well-being of our pediatric population. Practice Highlights Flexible 0.8 - 1.0 FTE opportunity Primarily outpatient Pediatric Gastroenterology practice Collaborative work with an experienced Pediatric Gastroenterologist Supportive multidisciplinary pediatric subspecialty team Opportunities to develop expertise in pediatric digestive health and chronic disease management Strong organizational commitment to provider development and quality patient care Position Responsibilities The NP or PA will function as an integral member of the Pediatric Gastroenterology team, providing comprehensive patient care in collaboration with and under the general supervision of a licensed physician.
Responsibilities include:
Conduct patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations Diagnose, develop, and implement treatment plans for pediatric gastrointestinal conditions Manage follow-up and return visits for conditions such as: Constipation and encopresis Gastroesophageal reflux Abdominal pain and functional gastrointestinal disorders Support care management for patients with more complex diagnoses, including: Inflammatory Bowel Disease Celiac disease Failure to thrive Other chronic gastrointestinal conditions Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing Supervise pH probe placements Supervise and interpret Breath Hydrogen procedures Communicate test results and treatment recommendations to patients and families Provide patient and family education and counseling Respond to patient inquiries through the electronic patient portal, phone communications, and written correspondence Collaborate with physicians, nurses, dietitians, and ancillary staff to provide coordinated care Pediatric Department Overview The Department of Pediatrics is composed of general pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, and highly skilled support staff dedicated to providing comprehensive care for children throughout the region.The Pediatric Specialties Department includes:
Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Cardiology Endocrinology Gastroenterology Genetics Learning and Development Services Nephrology outreach Additional pediatric services are provided within: Critical care Dentistry Hematology/Oncology Otolaryngology Neurology Ophthalmology Our pediatric inpatient services include: 19-bed Pediatric Inpatient Unit 18-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) 4-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Must have completed an accredited program and be eligible to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations. Advanced practice clinicians work under the direct supervision of a physician. Clinician staff may need to provide outreach service as part of their role in the system.
