Job Description

Job Overview:
As a democratic group comprised of 13 full time Emergency Physicians and 8 full time Advanced Practice Clinicians we have staffed Medical West's ERs for more than 40 years. We are seeking to hire an experienced full-time Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team. We currently staff 2 locations: Medical West's main campus ER and Medical West's freestanding ER. Our providers enjoy working at both as they offer different practice environments. Medical West has opened a beautiful new hospital in August 2024 and we are thrilled to be a part of the new system.

Medical West Freestanding ER:
5300 Medford Drive, Hoover, AL, 35244
Job Responsibilities:
Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses Order and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary Prescribe and dispense medications Document medical information of patients and maintain electronic medical records Educate, instruct, and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors Request consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians and clinics
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Graduate degree Up to date certification Must have a current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Alabama Clinical experience preferably in emergency medicine Must be compassionate and personable Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff We are specifically looking for providers interested in a full time position Full time providers must be willing to work late shifts and some weekends and holidays

$80,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
