Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort Take and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to monitor patient health status accurately Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting with tasks like catheter care, wound care, or medication administration under supervision Maintain detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality Facilitate safe patient transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer boards, adhering to safe lifting practices and manual handling protocols Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior promptly to nursing staff for timely intervention Engage with patients experiencing dementia or behavioral health challenges through specialized memory care techniques and compassionate communication Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program with current state licensure where applicable Experience working with diverse populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring specialized dementia or Alzheimer's care Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record keeping Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and vital signs measurement Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper manual handling methods and assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts Strong communication skills for caregiver-patient interactions and collaboration with healthcare teams Prior experience in long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), hospice settings, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, confidentiality (HIPAA compliance), and compassionate caregiving Join us in delivering exceptional patient-centered care!
