Paid Holidays Shift Differentials Available Position Summary:
Student Nursing Aide The Student Nursing Aide provides direct resident care under the delegation, direction, and supervision of a licensed nurse. This role allows nursing students to build clinical skills while supporting residents in a long-term care and rehabilitation setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain vital signs, pulse oximetry, and blood glucose readings Assist residents with meals and activities of daily living Perform simple dressing changes as delegated Assist with ostomy care Support restorative care, including ambulation and range-of-motion exercises Perform peripheral venipuncture for laboratory testing Apply oxygen via nasal cannula Initiate and discontinue approved nebulizer treatments Administer routine screening tests and immunizations as delegated Accurately document resident care in the electronic medical record Administer approved routine medications within Board of Nursing guidelines Participate in quality assurance and resident care initiatives
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an approved nursing program Successfully completed: Nursing Fundamentals Pharmacology Medication Administration Able to provide documentation verifying completed coursework Demonstrates competency within the Alabama Board of Nursing Student Nursing Aide guidelines At least 18 years of age Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate, dependable, and passionate about caring for older adults
