Job Description

Position Summary The Medical Assistant will have both clinical and administrative duties. Clinical responsibilities will include delegated medical functions under the direction of the Director of Outpatient Nursing and Wound Care in the delivery of care for assigned patients. This position also includes preparing exam rooms and patients for examination by the provider, collecting records, obtaining patient's medical history, vital signs, and other relevant data. May also administer injections or give treatments under the direction of the provider. Administrative duties will include answering phone calls, greeting patients/family members entering the facility, obtaining insurance authorizations, making referrals and additional support functions as directed. Performs all duties according to organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
