The ideal candidate will assist patients with activities of daily living, monitor and document patient conditions, maintain a safe and sanitary environment, and respond promptly to patient needs. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with licensed nursing staff to promote patient comfort, safety, dignity, and quality of care.

Hours:
Approximately 36-48 hours per week, with schedules varying based on staffing needs. Key Responsibilities Patient Care and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, personal hygiene, and other daily living activities. Provide compassionate care while respecting patient dignity, privacy, and individual needs. Respond promptly to patient requests for assistance, including verbal requests and call lights. Assist patients with positioning, mobility, and prescribed exercises or procedures designed to maintain strength and flexibility. Clinical and Nursing Support Assist licensed nursing staff with routine patient care procedures, treatments, and other assigned duties within the scope of CNA practice. Support nursing staff with appropriate aspects of pre- and post-operative care, post-mortem care, and other procedures as directed and permitted by applicable regulations. Monitor and document vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respirations, using appropriate equipment and techniques. Collect urine, sputum, stool, and other specimens as assigned and in accordance with established procedures. Measure and document patient fluid intake and output as directed. Observe and report changes in patients' physical or mental conditions to licensed nursing staff. Respond appropriately to emergencies and promptly notify nursing personnel while following established policies and procedures. Documentation and Recordkeeping Maintain accurate medical records, worksheets, and documentation for assigned patients. Record patient care activities, observations, vital signs, and other required information in accordance with facility procedures. Prepare routine reports and ensure documentation is complete, timely, and accurate. Maintain confidentiality when handling patient records and sensitive information. Dining and Patient Comfort Assist patients with transportation to dining areas and provide support during meals as needed. Communicate available menu selections and relay patient meal preferences to dining staff. Serve meals and assist patients with eating when necessary. Respond to patient comfort needs and requests in a timely and respectful manner. Environmental Services and Safety Maintain clean, orderly, and sanitary patient care areas. Change bedding, linens, and other items as needed. Follow infection prevention, safety, and hygiene procedures. Help maintain a safe, organized, and therapeutic environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Transportation and Administrative Support Transport patients to appointments and other designated locations as assigned. Assist with routine clerical duties, including answering telephones, filing documents, and maintaining records. Perform other related duties as assigned within the scope of the position. Quality Improvement and Process Participation Participate in continuous improvement activities, including team huddles, problem-solving sessions, standardized work procedures, and performance tracking. Contribute to quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Follow established workflows and support efforts to improve patient care, operational efficiency, and service quality. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of basic nursing care principles, practices, and techniques appropriate to the healthcare setting. Understanding of applicable state regulations, facility policies, and CNA scope-of-practice requirements. Ability to use and maintain basic medical equipment appropriately. Knowledge of procedures for maintaining a safe, clean, orderly, and hygienic patient care environment. Ability to accurately document, organize, file, and retrieve medical records. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Ability to learn and follow standardized work processes and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Strong organizational skills, dependability, and attention to detail. Required Qualifications Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the State of Arizona. Ability to work scheduled 12-hour night shifts. Ability to perform essential patient care duties, including assisting with mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living. Ability to follow established safety procedures, care instructions, and facility policies. Work Environment This position involves direct patient care in a healthcare facility and requires frequent interaction with patients and nursing staff. The CNA must be comfortable working overnight shifts, responding to patient needs, standing and walking for extended periods, and assisting with physical care activities as required.
