Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor vital signs, record medical information accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems, and report any changes to nursing staff promptly. Support patient care activities including catheter care, medication administration under supervision, and basic life support procedures. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care, long-term care, memory care, hospice, behavioral health, and other specialized units such as ICU or emergency medicine. Assist with medical documentation and ensure accurate recording of patient data using EMR systems like PCC. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers for patients with mobility challenges or disabilities. Provide compassionate support for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive impairments in memory or assisted living settings. Experience Prior experience working in healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices. Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks is advantageous. Critical care experience including ICU or Level II trauma center exposure is a plus. Familiarity with caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs enhances your ability to provide comprehensive patient support. Certifications in basic life support (BLS) and phlebotomy are beneficial but not mandatory; training can be provided for qualified candidates. A strong commitment to patient service excellence combined with caregiving skills tailored to geriatrics, pediatrics, or post-acute care environments will set you apart.
