Six months of general experience. Nursing Assistants appointed to direct pient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), and 7407(d). May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfhering Provision as described in the VA Qualificion Standard for this occupion (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupion and meet the criteria). Grandfhering Provisions. All Nursing Assistants employed in VHA as of March 12, 2015 are considered to have met all qualificion requirements for the series and grade held th are part of the basic requirements of the occupion.
