Take and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting with tasks such as catheter care, wound care, or basic life support (BLS) techniques. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while documenting care activities and updating medical records efficiently. Use safe manual handling practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts to transfer patients safely while preventing injury. Monitor patients' condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff using clear communication methods tailored for caregiving environments. Follow aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and ensure compliance with infection control protocols across diverse clinical settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, or long-term care facilities. Experience Prior experience working with geriatric patients or in senior care environments is highly valued. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation. Experience providing patient transfer methods using proper equipment and safe lifting practices. Background in medical-surgical units, hospice care, or acute care settings like Level I Trauma Centers enhances your ability to adapt quickly to varying patient needs. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and specialized areas such as dementia care or Alzheimer's support is advantageous. Certification in basic life support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications like phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges demonstrates your versatility in delivering personalized patient service across outpatient, inpatient, or community-based settings.
