Job Overview Graceful Day Home Care is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and experienced caregiver to provide one-on-one care for a male client in Los Osos. The right caregiver should genuinely enjoy caring for others and be comfortable providing personal care, companionship, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. We are looking for someone who is patient, attentive, organized, and able to respect the client's need for both conversation and quiet time. The family currently prefers a female caregiver for this assignment.

About the Client The client experiences significant back pain and severe spinal degeneration, making sitting, standing, and walking uncomfortable. He spends much of the day in bed but is able to walk with a cane and currently uses the restroom independently. He also experiences occasional confusion and memory loss. He enjoys meaningful conversation and has interests in poetry, philosophy, meditation, and similar topics. Someone who enjoys conversation and can connect with him around his interests may be a great fit. Key Responsibilities Provide companionship and engage in conversation based on the client's interests Assist with showering and personal hygiene Provide bed bathing when needed or when the client is unable or does not wish to shower Assist with applying lotion and general skin care Prepare lunch and dinner and bring meals to the client Light housekeeping and keeping the client's environment clean and organized Provide mobility support as needed Observe and be mindful of occasional confusion and memory changes Respect the client's need for rest, quiet time, and personal space Grocery shopping and transportation may be added later The client is able to eat independently and currently uses the restroom independently. Schedule We are looking for one consistent caregiver for three days per week:
Monday:
9:00 AM to 2:00
PM Wednesday:
9:00 AM to 2:00
PM Friday OR Saturday:
9:00 AM to 3:00
PM Total:
16 hours per week Applicants must be available Monday and Wednesday and either Friday or Saturday. We are looking for someone who can remain consistent with this client for at least the next 5 to 6 months without an extended vacation or planned absence that would interfere with the regular schedule. At this time, 16 hours per week is the full schedule available for this client. If you are looking for significantly more hours, please do not apply for this particular assignment.
