Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic CNA Activities Assistant to enrich the lives of residents in our skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in assisted living and long-term care environments, with a passion for engaging residents through meaningful activities and providing exceptional caregiving support. This role combines hands-on assistance with daily living activities and the development and coordination of recreational programs designed to promote well-being, social interaction, and cognitive health. Duties Provide direct personal care to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, mobility, and medication reminders, ensuring safety and dignity at all times. Plan, organize, and lead engaging recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and cognitive abilities, including memory care and dementia-specific programs. Foster strong rapport with residents by building trust through compassionate communication and attentive caregiving. Coordinate resident events and activities, managing schedules to ensure a diverse range of social, therapeutic, and recreational opportunities. Collaborate with the care team to monitor residents' health status, report changes, and support individualized care plans. Maintain accurate documentation of resident care activities and participation in programs using appropriate electronic health records or documentation systems such as Microsoft Office tools. Support team leadership by mentoring new staff members and assisting in training related to activity programming and resident engagement strategies. Ensure compliance with health regulations, safety standards, and facility policies while creating a warm, welcoming environment for all residents. Experience Prior experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or in a similar caregiving role within assisted living or nursing home settings. Demonstrated experience in developing or coordinating recreational therapy or activity programs for seniors or individuals with disabilities. Knowledge of geriatrics, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory support techniques. Familiarity with long-term care operations, home & community care services, and senior living facility protocols. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes. Strong understanding of aging issues counseling, resident rapport building, and working effectively with geriatric patients. Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable. The hours required for this position are 11am-7:30pm. Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday with some opportunites to work the floor as a CNA on other days if available. Pay:
$23.65 - $24.65 per hour Expected hours: 24.0 - 32.0 per week
