1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN First Assist for a Magnet-designated teaching hospital OR requiring robotics and da Vinci surgical system experience. Details Work in the Operating Room of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital with 186 staffed beds Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, 4 days per week Call coverage required 1-2 times per week until 8 PM Weekend call coverage required every 2nd or 3rd weekend, Sunday 7 AM to 1 PM Utilizes Epic EMR Cases include general surgery, GYN, ortho/total joints, ortho/spine, neuro/spine, plastics, urology, vascular, and bariatrics Robotics experience required, specifically da Vinci and da Vinci Xi Surgical System Requirements Active CT RN license or Compact license required Current certifications: BLS required; ACLS and CRNFA preferred Minimum 3 years of RN First Assist experience required Robotics experience required; da Vinci, total joints, spine, and plastics experience preferred Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred 1 professional reference required for consideration Skilled in surgical first assist techniques including suturing, tissue manipulation, and hemostasis Additional Information Perform first assist duties in the OR including tissue manipulation, suturing, wound closure, and hemostasis Maintain aseptic technique, isolation precautions, and laser safety standards Assist with robotic-assisted surgical procedures using the da Vinci system Free parking available on-site Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital to be eligible Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler Up to 7 days of requested time off can be auto-approved First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
