Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring precise medical documentation. Support clinical procedures by preparing patients for treatments such as catheter care, phlebotomy, or medication administration under supervision. Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams utilizing electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) for documentation and communication of patient status. Provide compassionate care tailored to specific needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, or behavioral health support. Assist in patient transfers and mobility using appropriate patient service equipment like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs while practicing safe lifting practices. Support long-term care residents in assisted living or nursing home environments by fostering a supportive and engaging atmosphere. Respond promptly to patient needs in emergency situations including urgent care or ICU scenarios; demonstrate basic life support (BLS) skills when necessary. Engage with patients requiring specialized care such as post-acute or sub-acute care, hospice services, or trauma center support, ensuring comfort and safety at all times. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), with current state licensure where applicable. Experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospitals (medical-surgical units, ICU), long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home & community care settings. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Epic for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and infection control practices essential for delivering safe patient care. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with geriatric patients, individuals with disabilities—including developmental disabilities—and those requiring specialized dementia or Alzheimer's care. Strong caregiving communication skills combined with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks; ability to stand for extended periods while maintaining safety standards. Certifications in CPR/BLS and basic life support are required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus.
