Join Our Caring Team! St. Lucian's Residence, a small, mission-driven senior living community in New Britain, Connecticut, is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who also holds the applicable Connecticut certification or authorization to administer medications . This is an excellent opportunity for a CNA who enjoys working closely with seniors in a smaller residential environment where staff can develop meaningful relationships with residents.
Responsibilities:
The CNA will provide direct resident care and support while promoting each resident's dignity, independence, safety, and well-being.
Responsibilities include:
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other personal care needs Check, record, and report resident vital signs as required Administer or assist with medications only as permitted by Connecticut law, the facility's licensure, the employee's medication certification/authorization, and St. Lucian's policies and procedures Accurately document medication administration and related information Review medication records and immediately report discrepancies, missed medications, refusals, or other concerns according to facility procedure Make appropriate and timely entries in the Communication Log Book Observe residents for changes in physical, mental, emotional, or functional condition and promptly report concerns to the appropriate supervisor or licensed healthcare professional Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and other daily needs as appropriate Maintain resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality Provide compassionate, respectful, and attentive care Communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, supervisors, and healthcare professionals Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable resident environment Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established safety procedures Complete other resident-care and facility duties as assigned and within the employee's permitted scope of practice
Qualifications Required:
Current Connecticut CNA certification in good standing Current applicable Connecticut medication-administration certification/authorization Ability to work the 3:00 PM-11:00 PM shift Dependable attendance and strong communication skills Compassionate and respectful approach to working with older adults Ability to accurately follow medication, documentation, and resident-care procedures
Preferred:
