Job Description

Job Summary This entry-level position provides a current Lake-Sumter State College nursing student with an opportunity to gain valuable work experience while supporting instructional activities within the Nursing program. The Student Assistant provides peer support to nursing students and assists faculty with instructional activities, learning resources, technology, and classroom operations. This is a part-time position with an expected commitment of 20-25 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible to accommodate the student's academic and other responsibilities. Students cannot work during scheduled class times. Responsible for demonstrating LSSC's values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide support to nursing students in designated subject areas through online, face-to-face, and group settings. Continually develop and maintain knowledge of nursing subject areas and tutoring/support skills. Assist students with the course's online learning system and related instructional technology. Assist instructors with instructional activities, including test proctoring. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming learning environment. Follow College and departmental procedures and policies. Attend required training sessions and complete a professional development plan. Maintain confidentiality of student and institutional information. Perform other duties as assigned. Career and Self-Development Communication Professionalism Teamwork Minimum Qualifications & Education Currently enrolled in the 2nd through 4th semester of the Nursing program. Recommendation from the Nursing Program Director. Currently enrolled at Lake-Sumter State College with a minimum of 6 credit hours. Maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Must be at least 18 years of age.
