Nursing Assistant Job Description Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients and nursing staff, ensuring high-quality care in a variety of settings. This role requires a strong commitment to patient safety, comfort, and dignity while assisting with daily living activities. Responsibilities Assist patients with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing staff. Administer medications as directed by nursing staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with protocols. Provide care for patients with infectious diseases, following strict safety guidelines. Assist in catheter care and management for patients requiring such support. Support patients with dementia through compassionate communication and engagement techniques. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities using electronic health record systems such as Epic. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Ensure a clean and safe environment for all patients by adhering to infection control practices. Requirements Certification as a Nursing Assistant. Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of critical care procedures. Experience or training in handling various patient needs, including those requiring special attention due to conditions such as dementia or critical illness. Ability to perform catheter care and understand the complexities of infectious disease management. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
