Job Description

UF Health is seeking a Team Lead to support our Healthcare & Medical Services department in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. In this role, you will oversee daily team operations, coordinate workflows, and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards. You will mentor and develop staff, foster collaboration across disciplines, and help implement evidence-based practices and process improvements. As part of an academic health center, you'll contribute to innovative care models and continuous learning while supporting UF Health's mission of research, education, and compassionate care. Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee daily clinical workflow and patient care activities for the assigned unit or service area. Support staff scheduling, assignments, and real-time coverage adjustments based on patient acuity and census. Serve as a clinical resource and role model, providing guidance on complex patient care situations. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff. Promote and monitor adherence to patient safety, quality standards, and regulatory and institutional policies. Assist with orientation, training, and ongoing mentoring of new and existing staff, fostering continuous professional development. Participate in performance feedback, coaching, and recognition to support staff engagement and accountability. Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, including data collection and implementation of process changes. Support coordination of care in an academic and research-focused environment, ensuring compliance with privacy and regulatory requirements. Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and patient-centered culture aligned with UF Health's mission and values.
