Duties Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; accurately document findings in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems). Support patient transfer methods using equipment like Hoyer lifts and ensure safe manual handling practices are followed at all times. Administer medications under supervision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments; implement memory care techniques and therapeutic activities. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and basic life support (BLS) when required. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in various settings including long-term care facilities, hospitals, outpatient clinics, hospice care, and home & community care environments. Experience Prior experience working with geriatric patients or in senior care environments is highly valued. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Experience in critical care areas such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is advantageous; familiarity with acute and sub-acute care settings is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, aseptic techniques, and infection control practices is essential. Background in caring for individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges enhances your ability to provide comprehensive patient service. Certification in CPR/BLS is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices; physical stamina for long shifts involving manual handling tasks is necessary.
