Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting healthcare professionals with tasks like catheter care, phlebotomy, and medication administration under supervision. Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Document patient interactions thoroughly in medical records while maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Operate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts safely to prevent injury during repositioning or transfers. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide updates on patient status and respond compassionately to needs. Experience Prior experience working as a CNA or in a similar caregiving role within long-term care facilities, hospitals, or home care settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) procedures such as CPR. Experience using EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for documentation and patient record management. Familiarity with specialized care environments including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, ICU settings, trauma centers (Level I & II), pediatric units (PICU), or post-acute care is advantageous. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while practicing safe lifting techniques during patient transfers or heavy lifting activities. Knowledge of infection prevention practices including aseptic technique and working with infectious disease protocols. Strong caregiver communication skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages—including geriatric patients—and those with disabilities or developmental challenges.
