Duties Deliver comprehensive patient personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, light cleaning, and medication reminders in accordance with care plans. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Support residents with assisted living or home health needs through patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts and proper manual handling techniques. Provide emotional support and effective communication to clients and their families, respecting residents' rights and dignity at all times. Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals and assist with medication administration documentation. Maintain a safe environment by practicing infection control protocols, assisting with housekeeping duties related to patient care, and ensuring compliance with safety standards such as first aid and CPR certifications. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and assist with complex care needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's care. Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or other developmental disabilities is advantageous. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience maintaining confidentiality within healthcare settings is essential. Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team providing long-term care or hospice support is valued. Familiarity with specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods enhances your effectiveness in this role.
