Job Description

UF Health is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in Gainesville, Florida. In this patient-centered role, you will provide hands-on care including bathing, grooming, feeding, mobility support, and vital signs while closely collaborating with nurses and the interdisciplinary team. You will help maintain a safe, clean environment, accurately document care in the EHR, and uphold infection control and privacy standards. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care including bathing, grooming, toileting, and feeding Measure and record vital signs, intake and output, and report changes to the nurse Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation using proper body mechanics Support RNs and LPNs with treatments, procedures, and patient monitoring Maintain clean, safe, and organized patient rooms and clinical areas Document care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) per UF Health standards Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA policies at all times Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team to support patient-centered care Participate in shift handoffs, huddles, and interdisciplinary team meetings Engage in ongoing training and education offered by UF Health Required Skills Patient care and ADL assistance Measuring and recording vital signs Infection prevention and control Safe patient handling and transfers Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Basic medical terminology Observation and reporting of patient status Time management in clinical settings Communication with patients and care teams HIPAA and patient privacy compliance
