The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring comfort and safety for individuals with diverse medical needs. The Nursing Assistant will work closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to facilitate effective patient care. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. Provide support in mobility and transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols. Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient status and needs. Support patients with special needs including those with dementia or developmental disabilities. Assist in administering medications as directed by nursing staff. Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance caregiving skills. Skills The ideal candidate should possess a combination of the following skills: Experience with Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks EMR systems. Critical care experience in settings such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers. Familiarity with long-term care, assisted living, nursing home environments, or hospice care. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support techniques. Proficiency in phlebotomy and catheter care. Understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques. Experience working with seniors or individuals requiring memory care or Alzheimer's support. Ability to provide compassionate care in acute care settings including emergency medicine or urgent care environments. Strong documentation skills for maintaining accurate medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
