CNA / HHA - PPEC
(Bilingual Preferred) Job Description Overview We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and energetic Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) to join our Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) team. The CNA/HHA will assist in providing safe, attentive, and compassionate care to children with special healthcare needs and medically complex conditions under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is committed to creating a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. Responsibilities Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, diaper changes, and personal hygiene. Assist with feeding and hydration according to each child's plan of care and instructions from the nursing staff. Assist with positioning, transfers, mobility, and use of adaptive equipment as appropriate. Observe children for changes in behavior, comfort, skin condition, or general well-being and promptly report concerns to the RN/LPN. Obtain and document vital signs when assigned and within the CNA/HHA's permitted scope of practice. Assist nursing staff with the daily care and supervision of medically complex pediatric patients. Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and child-friendly environment. Follow infection-control procedures, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment. Assist with maintaining patient supplies and keeping patient-care areas organized. Provide attentive supervision and help ensure children's safety throughout the day. Participate in age-appropriate activities and interact with children in a compassionate and supportive manner. Communicate professionally with nurses, therapists, staff members, children, and families. Follow HIPAA requirements and maintain patient confidentiality. Follow all PPEC policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Perform other patient-care duties within the CNA/HHA's authorized scope of practice as directed by licensed nursing staff. Qualifications Current Florida CNA certification or HHA qualification, as applicable to the position. Current CPR certification. Experience working with children preferred. Previous experience in PPEC, pediatric home health, daycare, special needs care, or medically complex pediatric care is a plus. Comfortable caring for children with developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. Ability to follow nursing instructions and individualized plans of care. Dependable, punctual, patient, compassionate, and able to work effectively as part of a healthcare team. Ability to safely assist with lifting, positioning, and transferring pediatric patients when required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.Position Details Setting:
